Safeguarding Financial Industry IT

As the financial industry evolves, so do the threats that come with it, and all varieties of financial organizations face the need for an agile and secure IT infrastructure to ensure the best customer care possible. Stringent government regulations and the introduction of new technologies such as digital transformation and the cloud are driving financial organizations to move towards modernizing their IT infrastructures. Furthermore, high profile cyber attacks are placing greater demands on financial IT to tighten security measures that go beyond just prevention.

Overcome the complexities of managing financial industry IT environments to drive efficiency, reliability and productivity. Automation, visibility and control helps you create operational efficiencies while minimizing risk and improving strategic business initiatives that keep customer care a priority.

Compliance and Security: Simplify managing intricate compliance rules and the actions that support them by automatically collecting information to determine which endpoints are out of liability scope or are in full compliance. Immediately remediate, ensuring regulatory requirements are always met. Detailed reporting captures an activity trail for current and future logging—reducing risk, enforcing security policies, and minimizing user impact.

Organization and Policy Enforcement: Create, distribute, enforce and track policies to streamline daily operations, improve compliance, protect against liabilities, and streamline workflows to run the organization safely and smoothly. Monitor user activity and generate real-time reports to analyze usage data to take action as needed to protect your organization across the network.

Network Speed and Reliability: Obtain full visibility and control with a click of a button to view and address endpoint activity such as reoccurrences, stopped services and system alerts. Roll back to normal state within minutes and schedule automated backups and updates for certain times and/or phased over different parts of the network ensuring a high-performing, stable infrastructure.

Standardize Inventory: Streamline inventory management processes by automatically tracking inventory across all connected endpoints to save time and obtain full visibility into network data such as hardware/software changes, expired licenses, and configuration changes. Built-in and customized reports provide quick insight to every detail, enhancing response time and productivity to maintain the security and performance of IT assets.

Full Insight and Control: Aggregate endpoint performance data into an easy-to-digest dashboard to analyze and identify trends, functionality issues, and potential threats that arm you to make better informed decisions.

Detection and Protection: Quickly detect ingress ransomware threats typically carried through by phishing emails and spam. Immediately shut down the endpoint and stop infection as it happens before critical data files and applications are compromised. Anti-virus and spyware detection and monitoring delivers trifecta protection against cyberthreats. Recover device back to normal state within 24 hours.

We work with companies in the financial services space and are familiar with the various governance and regulatory issues around SOX, PCI, and FINRA. We hang our hats on being trustworthy partners to these organizations who deal with literally millions of dollars on a daily basis.

Some examples of our work include:

Los Angeles based credit union: For this financial institution, we conducted an upgrade of their primary internal database from 32-bit SQL Server 2005 to 64-bit SQL Server 2016. This also required an upgrade of the underlying operating system from Windows Server 2008 Standard to Windows Server 2016, as well as upgrades to the IIS servers and applications that access the SQL Server. InclusiveTech performed discovery and analysis on the current environment as the original DBA was no longer on staff; designed the upgraded architecture and implemented the upgrade.

Los Angeles based property and casualty insurance company: For this insurance services provider, InclusiveTech upgraded their data warehouse from SQL Server 2008 R2 to SQL Server 2016. This data warehouse aggregates data from more than a dozen sources and provides real-time business intelligence. InclusiveTech performed discovery on the current environment as the architects and implementers were no longer on staff; designed the upgraded architecture (several improvements were made), and defined and implemented the cutover plan.

Los Angeles-based investment firm. For this Registered Investment Adviser, InclusiveTech provides comprehensive managed services including workstations, phones, local area networks, and cloud based services across its three locations in Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, and San Francisco.

Huntington Beach-based credit union. For this financial institution, InclusiveTech performed a number of projects. Wed assisted with an upgrade of the Exchange environment for this credit union. The environment included two Exchange servers configured as a Database Availability Group (DAG), with F5 edge transport servers that were eliminated as part of the process. InclusiveTech defined the upgrade strategy and conducted the upgrade in conjunction with Client staff. We also assisted with an upgrade of the AD for this credit union. An additional domain controller was added to the environment and issues with various servers and other network components were addressed and corrected. InclusiveTech defined the upgrade strategy and conducted the upgrade in conjunction with Client staff. We also led an upgrade of the SharePoint environment from 32-bit standalone 2007 to 64-bit farm-mode 2010. Because of the difference in versions, an in-place upgrade was not possible. This credit union has more than 87.000 members and the SharePoint site is used by both internal as well as external users. InclusiveTech defined the upgrade strategy and conducted the upgrade in conjunction with Client staff.
